| Once upon a time, owners Paul and Jade Schuyler lived very different lives, toiling in the trenches of Los Angeles; he as a director, she as an actress. They met at the presigious Beverly Hills Playhouse, studying under one of the great masters Milton Katselaes. As is often the case with directors and actresses, mutual creative passion blossomed into something more, and before you could say lights, camera, action they were hard at work on the most important production of their lives: their son Quinn. So successful was this production, it was followed quickly by a sequel: their son Shaw. Now, LA is a great city, but not exactly the place you think of first to raise kids. With that in mind, Paul and Jade decided for a change of scenery. An opportunity for Jade to return to her hometown presented itself and they jumped at the chance. In April of 2005, they opened The Box Office Cafe in South Chatham, serving up the best coffee and baked goods around. Not content with staying small, the two quickly expanded the menu to include sandwiches, and then pizza. Their intent was to offer something a little different, a little exciting, as an alternative to fried seafood and tavern fare. But even though creating magic in the kitchen takes up most of their time, their dream of making movies have not diminished. Since their return, they have made a commercial for The Box Office Cafe shot and cut to look like a summer blockbuster horror movie, as well as the touching and funny short BOMB, which played at the 2007 Woods Hole Film Festival. In between throwing pizzas and baking granola, they're writing a feature film which they plan to shoot in and around Chatham in the fall of 2010.
